What is the Haunted Fort?The Haunted Fort is an annual Halloween event held at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park. It features three haunted houses set within the historic military buildings of the original Fort Abraham Lincoln.

What are the Hours?Spookless Night: 7 PM – 10 PM Main Event Nights (Fridays and Saturdays): 7 PM – 11 PM October 28th “Darkness Unleashed”: 7 PM – 11 PM Park entry for ticket holders ends at 11 PM each night. Access to the haunted houses continues until midnight.

Is the Haunted Fort scary?Yes. Haunted Fort is North Dakota’s premier fear event, held at one of the state’s most haunted locations—Fort Abraham Lincoln. Our goal is to deliver a truly frightening experience, with scares that can come from anywhere.

Can I leave if I get too scared?Yes. You may exit any haunted house at any time by notifying an actor, staff member, or park ranger, who will escort you out. Please note that refunds are not available.

Can the actors touch me?No. Actors are not permitted to touch guests during the event.

Is there an age restriction?Haunted Fort is an intense and frightening experience. We do not recommend it for children under 13. Children under 6 are not permitted to enter. For children 12 and under, we suggest attending the Halloween Kids Bash on Sunday, October 22. The “Darkness Unleashed” event is recommended for ages 16 and older.

How long is the wait?Wait times typically range from 30 to 50 minutes. To manage crowds, the event is divided into time slots—purchase tickets for your preferred slot and arrive anytime within that period. Fast Pass and Ultimate FEAR Experience Pass options are available for quicker entry.

Ticket Prices?Ticket prices vary depending on the night, with different rates for Fridays, Saturdays, and special event evenings.

What is the Ultimate Fear Experience ?The Ultimate Fear Experience is a VIP ticket that allows unlimited entry to the Haunted Fort on the same night without waiting in lines or adhering to time slots. Each visit must start at the event’s beginning and follow the full experience. Benefits include: Expedited access to all haunted attractions An exclusive Ultimate Fear LED necklace A Zombie Apocalypse Training Pass for added thrills A 20% discount on Haunted Fort merchandise (excludes food, beverages, clearance items, and other restrictions apply) VIP passes are limited and highly sought after—purchase early to secure yours.

What is the Darkness Unleashed?Darkness Unleashed is a one-night, extreme “no lights” experience at the Haunted Fort. Small groups navigate the haunted corridors and mazes using only one glow stick per person as their sole light source. Tickets are limited.

No Refunds: Please be aware that there are no refunds for any reason, so when you purchase your tickets, it's at your own risk.

Thrilling Effects: The Haunted Fort event is designed to deliver spine-tingling scares through strobe lighting, fog machines, startling noises, props, and special effects that may startle and disorient visitors. Expect low visibility, ramps, uneven ground, and the possibility of being separated from your group.

Not Recommended for Certain Conditions: We do not recommend participation if you are pregnant, have claustrophobia, are prone to seizures, or have heart or respiratory conditions. We cannot admit individuals who appear intoxicated, those wearing medical casts, braces, or crutches, or anyone with a Halloween mask or full head cover. Due to the historic nature of the buildings and grounds, our mazes and attractions are not wheelchair accessible.

No Photography or Videography: Photography or videography is not allowed while inside the mazes or haunted attractions.

No Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere in or around Haunted Fort, including waiting areas outside the attractions and the Commissary courtyard.

No Food or Beverages: Food or beverages are not permitted during the Haunted Fort tour.

Respectful Behavior: Disorderly conduct, touching staff, props, sets, decorations, or demeaning actors while touring Haunted Fort is strictly prohibited, and violators will be removed.

Age Recommendations: Haunted Fort is an intense and scary Halloween experience. We do not recommend it for children under 13. Children under 6 will not be admitted. For children 12 and under, we recommend attending our Halloween Kids Bash or the Spookless Night event.
